This memorial is for my Big Pappaw,  Lewis Capps. He  raised my father as his own son although my dad was his great nephew. He was a strong man in life and  still lets us feel his love in his passing.. He is greatly loved and missed..

   

Never Completely Gone

   

Our time on earth together has come to an end,

Now my broken heart must start to mend.

 

I know your pain and suffering is now forever done,

But I know that mine has barely just begun.

 

Your smile is, forever, burned into my mind,

You were so special, a true one of a kind.

 

You never thought of your own wants and needs,

Yet mine you forever tried to please.

 

Our time together seems so small,

I will cherish our years and memories together, one and all.

 

You're with me for eternity in spirit, heart and soul,

And to this fact I will always hold.

 

When I feel I can't go on,

I'll think of you, and your love will make me strong.

 

Your love, spirit and memory will always live on,

And because of that i know you will never be completely gone.

 

In my life you will always be,

Lovingly watching over me.

   

I personally wrote this poem to embody my father's feelings when my Pappaw died. Unfortunately I was born after his death and so never got to meet him on this earth but I know his love and his spirit are always with me and  watching over me..
